For almost 15 years, the Kissinger Twins have been creating commercial and artistic projects that blend film, literature, animation and music with interaction. These aren’t films or games; these projects defy classification, just like the roles of their creators. The artists are simultaneously film directors, scriptwriters, interactive directors, interface and user journey designers, often editors and designers. As the only members of the team, they work on each stage and area of their projects. On the one hand, it’s a fascinating training ground; on the other, it’s an exceptionally laborious process, filled with unexpected changes, and most often with unrealistic deadlines.

During the masterclass, you’ll learn: What is interactive film directing all about? How much work do you need to put into a non-linear story, which anyway is most often viewed only once? How can we design stories during times of universally short attentions spans? What is the structure of work on an interactive project (narrative website, interactive film, game, cinematic VR) – from concept to testing? How does work on artistic and commercial projects differ?

The artists will discuss their most interesting projects:

  • Philips / Carolyn
  • Expedia / Find Your Story
  • The Trip
  • Channel 4 / Utopia
  • Sufferrosa
  • Honda / Follow Happy
  • The Hunt
  • Lucidreams
