Filip Springer, born in 1982, is a reporter and photographer who works with the largest Polish publications. He won a fellowship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2010 and the Young Poland National Cultural Centre in 2012. Springer has presented his work at exhibitions in Poznań, Warsaw, Łódź, Gdynia, Lublin and Jelenia Góra. His reportorial debut, the book "Miedzianka. Historia znikania" ("Miedzianka: Story of a Disappearance") was a finalist for the 2012 Gdynia Literary Prize. He was also a finalist of the 2012 Nike prize and the winner of the third edition of the Ryszard Kapuściński Fellowship for young journalists. "13 pięter" ("Thirteen Floors") is his fourth book; earlier he published "Źle urodzone. Reportaże o architekturze PRL-u" ("Badly Born: Reportage on the Architecture of Communist Poland"); "Wanna z kolumnadą. Reportaże o polskiej przestrzeni" ("Bath With Colonnade: Reportage on the Polish Space") and "Zaczyn. O Zofii i Oskarze Hansenach" ("Leaven: On Zofia and Oskar Hansen"). "Thirteen Floors" won the Silesian Literary Laurel 2015.
