More and more, the determining factor in whether we find a place attractive is its use of new media. This is one of the reasons why cultural institutions, including museums, are eager to implement multimedia projects. But are they doing it the right way? Or are they falling into the trap of overestimating technology? Is it really necessary to create another application or portal? We present the traps that institutions can fall into when they trivialise the use of new technologies, examining both good and bad examples, and considering how to avoid a loss of identity in the network of the digital world.
